The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians 5-2 in Game 5 of the AL Championship Series on Saturday night, and Juan Soto hit a three-run missile with two outs in the tenth inning to lead the team to their 41st World Series, and their first in 15 years.

The biggest brand in baseball will return to the major stage in October.

With one strong swing, Soto, who was obtained in a December seven-player trade with San Diego, put the Bronx Bombers in position. Additionally, he caught the game’s final out.

Brian Cashman, the general manager of the Yankees, declared, “We’re right where we belong,” after completing the acquisition of Soto.

Either the Los Angeles Dodgers or the New York Mets will face the Yankees in their attempt to win their 28th championship. Dodger Stadium will host Game 6 of the NL Championship Series on Sunday.

Before New York’s fashionable outfielder hit a blast over the wall in center, Gaddis had Soto in a 1-2 count and had struck out Gleyber Torres. Soto circled the bases after dancing down the first-base line and pausing to celebrate with his teammates.

“I just thought, ‘You’re all over that guy.'” You’re completely smitten with him. “He doesn’t have anything,” Soto said, joining his manager Aaron Boone as the only New York player to hit a home run in a series-ending victory that lasted extra innings.

During the postgame celebrations, Yankees supporters yelled, “Re-sign Soto!” Soto is eligible for free agency this winter.

The Yankees easily defeated the Guardians in five games, and Giancarlo Stanton was crowned ALCS MVP after hitting a two-run homer. It wasn’t simple.

At Yankee Stadium, New York won the first two games with little fanfare or significant drama. In Cleveland, though, the situation was different since all three of the games at Progressive Field were extremely close.

The Yankees held on to win Game 4 despite blowing a four-run lead, while the Guardians recovered to win Game 3 on two, two-run home runs in their final two at-bats.

“This was a roller coaster and we were able to just keep punching back,” Stanton stated. “We know there’s much more work to do and it’s only uphill from here and we got to get it done.”

Cleveland’s unexpected season under first-year manager Stephen Vogt finished just short of a World Series because they simply didn’t have enough. The team hasn’t won a championship since 1948, which is now the longest drought in baseball history.

The Yankees have returned to the World Series, as their supporters have always expected.

Boone, who has received a lot of criticism yet is one of just three managers to lead New York to the playoffs in six of his first seven seasons, claims that the team’s 82-80, fourth-place AL East finish from the previous season caused some “soul searching as an organization” over the offseason.

Although the foundation of the squad remained mostly intact, the team’s return to title contention was expedited by the acquisition of Soto in a blockbuster trade on December 7; New York shipped five players to San Diego for the three-time All-Star outfielder.

Boone laughed as he remarked, “That was a good day,” prior to the game.

Tanner Bibee, who had held the Yankees scoreless for the first five innings and struck out New York’s dangerous DH in his first two at-bats, was chased by Stanton, who tied the score at two in the sixth with a 446-foot rocket into the left-field bleachers.

Stanton moved into fourth place on the team’s history list after Bernie Williams (22), Derek Jeter (20), and Mickey Mantle (18) with his fourth home run in this series, his third in three days, and his 16th in the postseason.

Boone was asked what makes Stanton so good prior to the game.

“He can hit it harder than anyone, first of all,” Boone stated. “So there’s the physical nature of what he does that’s different than just about everyone in the world.”

Stanton’s discipline at the plate, however, was praised by Boone for “his approach, his process, how he studies guys.”

“There’s something that he does when he gets familiarity with people on top of being very physically gifted,” Boone stated.

Carlos Rodón gave the Guardians a 2-0 lead in the fifth inning after Steven Kwan singled with two outs. However, when Lane Thomas grounded out on Mark Leiter Jr.’s first pitch to him, Cleveland lost a huge opportunity for more, leaving the bases loaded.
