At the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, Max Verstappen makes an amazing comeback to virtually secure the Formula One title.

At the Sao Paulo Grand Prix on Sunday, Max Verstappen delivered one of the best wet weather drives ever, moving up from 17th to first to virtually guarantee his fourth successive Formula One drivers’ championship.

The Red Bull driver won a race that featured a red flag, two safety car periods, and numerous collisions by taking advantage of some extreme weather in Brazil. He increased his advantage over competitor Lando Norris, who began in pole position but finished sixth, in the race for the title by doing this.

Verstappen now leads the McLaren driver by 62 points, and with three races left, he will win the title again if he leads by 60 points or more at the end of the next race in Las Vegas on November 23.
The Dutchman later stated, “I knew going into P17 that it was going to be a very tough race,” according to Formula1.com. However, we avoided problems, made the correct decisions, maintained our composure, and were all right. Naturally, the combination of these factors allowed for that outcome. Conversely, Norris credited the current world champion’s triumph to the race’s stop-start format rather than Verstappen’s abilities.
According to Formula1.com, he stated, “That’s life sometimes – you take a gamble, and that has paid off for them.” “It’s just luck, not skill. All we did was get a little unlucky.

Due to a storm on Saturday, qualifying was postponed until Sunday morning, and Norris recorded the fastest time.

Unfortunately, Verstappen was unable to complete his fast lap in Q2 due to a collision caused by Lance Stroll, which ended the session. Due to a five-place penalty for using a new engine at the beginning of the weekend, he finished in 12th place but was forced even farther down the grid.

What transpired during the actual race was quite amazing. Verstappen started the race quickly, rising from 11th place after just one lap to sixth by lap 11.
McLaren and Mercedes pitted Norris and George Russell, respectively, as the rain began to pour down again. Crucially, Verstappen did not enter. The rain caused the race to be suspended shortly after Franco Colapinto crashed.

Verstappen had been able to swap tires without stopping when the race resumed. All of a sudden, Esteban Ocon was ahead of him and he was in second place.

Verstappen seized the chance to grab the lead when the race resumed on lap 43 following another safety car break.

The Red Bull driver had an easy ride from there, finishing almost 20 seconds clear of Ocon in second place. Pierre Gasly, Ocon’s Alpine teammate, placed third, marking the first time in 11 years that both of the Enstone drivers have placed on the podium.
